Two things on that list surprise most people. The first is that Idaho's ban is constitutional rather than statutory, which makes it far harder to undo. The second is that daily fantasy sports, legal in forty-odd states, has been off the table here since 2016.

Two rules apply everywhere on that list. Your account has to be legal in the state you are standing in, and geolocation is enforced at the moment the bet is placed, not at signup. An Oregon account funded in Oregon will refuse a wager the instant you cross back onto the Idaho side of the Snake River. Verify distances against a current map before planning a trip around them.
When Will Idaho Legalize Online Sports Betting?
Not soon, and possibly not ever. That is a firmer answer than these sections usually give, and the structure of Idaho law justifies it.
No sports betting bill has been introduced in the Idaho Legislature since the Supreme Court struck down the federal ban in May 2018. Not a serious one, not a symbolic one. Thirty-eight states and the District of Columbia moved in the seven years that followed. Idaho did not file so much as a study resolution.
The reason is the amendment threshold. In most states legalisation needed a bill and a governor's signature. In Idaho it needs two thirds of the House, two thirds of the Senate, and then a majority of voters at a general election. Three separate hurdles, the first two requiring supermajorities in a legislature where no organised bloc is pushing for this.
The 2018 historical horse racing vote is the closest thing to a live test of public appetite, and it failed. That measure had an existing industry behind it, a jobs argument, and rural constituencies with a direct stake. Voters still said no. A sports betting amendment would arrive with less organised support than that.
Analysts consistently group Idaho with Utah as the two states least likely to legalise. Utah's position is written into its state identity; Idaho's is written into Article III. The realistic scenarios are a federal court ruling that reshapes state authority over event contracts, or a tribal compact negotiation that opens a narrow retail channel. Neither is close, and neither would produce the statewide mobile market most people mean when they ask this question.

Can you sports bet in Idaho?
Not legally. Idaho has no licensed sportsbook, retail or online, and no tribal property offers sports wagering. Article III, Section 20 of the state constitution prohibits gambling except for the lottery, pari-mutuel betting and charitable bingo and raffles. Idahoans who bet on sports either use offshore books that hold no US licence, or they drive to Oregon, Wyoming or Nevada and wager while physically in those states.
Is gambling legal in Idaho?
Only in three forms. The Idaho Lottery, pari-mutuel wagering on horse racing, and licensed charitable bingo and raffles are permitted by the state constitution. Everything else is prohibited, and casino gambling is banned by name: blackjack, craps, roulette, poker, baccarat, keno and slot machines, plus any electronic imitation of them. The seven tribal casinos operate within that limit and run lottery and bingo-derived machines rather than true slots or house-banked tables.
Is online gambling legal in Idaho?
No. There are no licensed online casinos, poker rooms or sportsbooks available to Idaho residents, and the state has issued no online gambling licences of any kind. The Idaho Lottery sells some products online, which is the only regulated internet wagering available in the state. Offshore sites accept Idaho customers but are licensed by foreign jurisdictions and supervised by no Idaho authority.
Is sports gambling legal in Idaho?
No, and it would take a constitutional amendment rather than an ordinary bill to change that. The legislature would need a two-thirds vote in both chambers, followed by approval from Idaho voters at a general election. No sports betting bill has been introduced in Idaho since the federal ban was struck down in 2018.
Is FanDuel legal in Idaho?
No. FanDuel does not operate in Idaho in any product line. It agreed to stop offering paid daily fantasy contests to Idaho consumers on 1 May 2016 under an agreement with the Attorney General, and it has never launched a sportsbook here because sports betting is not legal. Attempting to use a FanDuel account inside Idaho will fail the geolocation check.
Is Stake legal in Idaho?

What is the gambling age in Idaho?
It depends on the activity. Idaho Lottery products are 18 and over. Tribal casinos are generally 18, but the Nez Perce properties are stricter: It'se-Ye-Ye Casino and Clearwater River Casino both require 21, so check the specific property before travelling. Pari-mutuel horse race wagering is 18. Offshore sportsbooks set their own minimum, usually 18 or 21, and we recommend treating 21 as the standard.

The ban sits in the constitution rather than the statute book, no bill has been filed in seven years, and the one gambling question voters have been asked recently was answered no.
